♥ ♥ ♥ Raise your hand if you think I’m a Pollyanna. Well, I’m beginning to think that I am, indeed. This book gets great reviews. I couldn’t wait to read it, and I guess I’m glad I did. Maybe. Heavy subject matter kept me feeling like I had to listen (yes, another audio book) through one ear, and slightly turned away as if I were witnessing something tragic, but mesmerizing. Man, post apocalyptic survival mode is brutal. Some might say that it’s better than the alternative, but read this book and you’ll beg to differ. I mean, yes, I tend to be nauseatingly optimistic, but I’m not sure even I could get by. It’s a story about a father and son. The boy has never known the world differently, and it’s their story of survival, sometimes just one minute to the next. Hand me something happy now, please.
